I used to LOVE going here. Largely because of the very nice basketball courts but the gym and other amenities are nice too. I am not a student nor UT faculty/employee but rather just a local resident.
The whole pay to park situation is ridiculous and outrageously over priced for someone like me who doesn't visit daily. Visitors beware of this... I was hit with 3 expensive parking tickets after a few visits within a 10 day span, long after I had been there or knew anything about having to pay (There had never been a pay to park there in the past before).
Nobody told me the lot had been sold to a 3rd party company who was then charging to park with hidden cameras to take pictures of your car and then send you the bills in the mail after. Those 3 gym visits within that short time frame cost me a couple hundred dollars.
No more day passes to the rec center is now pretty lame as well. Front desk personnel sometimes don't know how to help or answer questions and there seem to be different "rules" with each visit.
I have given up trying to go here any more and I used to really enjoy it.
