I've owned my car for 10 years & the entire time that I've owned it, it has been insured for an agreed value of $20,000. Now that 100k+ mile & rebuilt title versions are going for 23-30k+ I figured it would be time to increase the value on my policy after being stagnant for the last decade. My insurance needed an appraisal from a collector car appraisal specialist to approve the coverage & they would reimburse me for the appraisal cost. Luckily they did or this would be a 1-2 star review for the wasted expense. My car was appraised at the same $20,000 it's been since 2014 when I paid $15,000 for it. Nevermind that driver quality cars are bringing $25-40k+. He insisted that he's "More of a Mopar guy" so maybe youll have better luck with a Dodge! I dropped my coverage & went with a Collector's Insurance policy & they went up to the $30,000 agreed value for my car, sight unseen. No photos, no description, no 45 minute walk around. Running? Driving? Miles? Color? Yep. 30k!
