Mercy Health - Tiffin Hospital Emergency Department

I waited for two hours in the waiting room and ended up leaving as I was in to much pain to continue just sitting there. Staff was very friendly and tried to help the best they could. They are very under staffed which is understandable the staff is trying their best but the wait time was just not helping in my case and I had to go else where.

The nurse was mean. I was obviously very anxious, in shock, and over stimulated. They did not care and told me to calm down or they would t be dealing with me. Not to mention they tried to get me to leave without cleaning ANY of my wounds. If youre hurt and have the tolerance go somewhere else. None of these people want to be nurses and thats obvious.

I visited this ED with a kidney stone 5-7am on a Sunday morning and had great care. Quick test and diagnosis. My doctor was great.

The emergancy room has really got a whole lot better . They bought some doctors up from St. Vs in Toledo and it way better now - they know what there doin.

I am only giving three stars because the nurses were kind and cordial, the facility is well kept and Ive had good care PRIOR to Dr. E. Eitches. I entered the emergency room bleeding at 11 weeks pregnant. Dr. Eitches was cold, detached and had incredibly poor bedside manner. He came across very arrogant to me, and made me feel as if he already had me figured out before I even spoke. He was not warm or welcoming, he did not listen to my concerns or requests and took an HCG QUANT during my pregnancy, when I was too far along for that to be accurate. I made specific requests as it was my third time in the emergency room and he ignored them. He made me feel like I did not know what I was talking about. I had to request three times for a fetal doppler, which never was performed. He told me all that mattered was my blood work. When the blood work returned he told me he had no way to compare my numbers so he couldnt give me a definitive answer. I asked him to check the test results in My Chart from my OSU visit the day before and he said Oh, yeah. After doing so he told me I was almost certainly having a miscarriage due to the quantitative level of HCG. Again, this was an inaccurate way to detect a miscarriage this far along in my pregnancy. As I was bawling and crying he immediately tried asking me if I wanted to get pregnant again without allowing me to even process what he had just said. I was genuinely confused what he was asking me in that moment because I had just been told I was miscarrying. He started recommending testing strips and paperwork on how to conceive and I was still laying on the bed crying. Im posting this review because I hope he improves his training, follows new protocols and works on the way he handles a woman who is in this vulnerable of a state. Im sure Im not the only patient he has made feel this way before.
