I came to the area for a vacation at my friend's lake home, not planning to buy anything. I was still working full time in my hometown of Frederick Maryland. I fell in love with the area and contacted Mary Kandell (referred to me by my friend) just to see what was out there. I wanted a place to retire; where my grandchildren would want to visit. Mary sent me some information of places to "check out" before our appointment to visit. We went to 3 houses. I wrote an offer on the first house and before I went home from my vacation, I had an accepted offer on my "dream retirement home". Within 6 weeks I retired, sold my house in Maryland, and moved into my new home. It could not have happened without the expertise of Mary Kandell.

We initially had contact with Mary at an open house she was overseeing that day. Through open houses, you have contact with numerous realtors. At her open house, she was friendly, polite, knowledgeable, and willing to answer any questions about the property. After meeting her, we decided that she would be our realtor to find our new home. She would show us any house we were interested in. She also kept us aware of any new listings. Through the process of finding our home, which we came back to 4 or 5 times, Mary would answer questions that were brought up on the previous visit. All of that was great, but you get to know a person when something goes wrong. There was a miscommunication between the owner and his realtor. The contract stated that the washer and dryer stayed. He took them with him out of state. Mary found us a better set than was originally in the house, and had it delivered. That was a testimony to her high standards and her goal to satisfy her clients. I would recommend Mary Kandell highly to anyone looking to buy or sell their home.
