Stein Hospice Care Center

This experience has been the worst. It's so disappointing the little effort & shortness of time they have to come into the home for the amt of money they receive from insurance. They offered little to NO extra support in caring for my family member.

Back in early 2018, my mom was staying here, and the staff went above and beyond to help and care for her. They were very kind, caring, welcoming, and patient with her. They let my older sisters decorate her room. The room she was in was very spacious and cozy. Staff was absolutely outstanding! When it was time for her to leave (I don't remember why she had to go), as she was leaving the room, she cried and her nurses cried too. They gave her a big hug and then my mom was taken to Admirals Pointe Nursing Home in Huron. That place was the complete opposite of Stein Hospice. Small room, rude staff, no care or friendliness from the staff, and they basically just let her die. They took her off her medicine, where she went into a coma and died the next day... I wish she never left Stein Hospice!!!!! She died April 10, 2018. I bet if she could've stayed at Stein Hospice longer, she would've lived longer, at least by a little bit... Overall I really loved Stein Hospice, the staff, the hospitality, the kindness, everything about it!

This place is a JOKE!! My mother was taken there for end-of-life care, but once her personal health insurance ran out, they gave her the boot!! So much for "non-profit. "

Most patients get to stay at home but when needed the in-patient unit is outstanding. Much more comfortable than a typical hospital floor for the patients and their families, too. Dedicated and compassionate staff; don't know how they do it.
