image My daughter has watched me do scouting activities for years and was beyond excited when BSA announced girls could join BSA starting in February 2019. We've had nothing but positive experiences with Troop 279 and would highly recommend.

image Our experience with this troop has been phenomenal! Our two oldest sons transferred to this troop when their former troop collapsed when they were 15 and 13. We were immediately impressed by the principles of scouting were implemented. This troop was truely boy led! They generate the ideas and the adult leadership help them implement the plan. My oldest is now an Eagle and my second son is preparing to do his Eagle project. My youngest son joined and now is a patrol leader. A year ago the committee of the troop and charter organization allowed for the formation of an affiliated girls troop my daughter has joined. It works great for our family as the troops meet at the same time and attend the same activities. I am excited that my daughter can have the same great experiences my sons have had. This troop is very active and meets weekly year round. They are understanding when the youths have sports or other activities that mean they can not participate for a bit. They also have monthly campouts for the scouts. I am thankful for the leadership of the troop and would recommend it to any family!

image Youth-led, dynamic, practical. Boys and girls scouting together, learning citizenship, outdoor skills, and leadership.

image Troop 279 is the most active Troop I have ever heard of, camp activities every month of the year, week long summer camp, service projects, Eagle projects, the list goes on. The Scouts run the Troop meetings (with adult Supervision), if you want to give your son or daughter a great experience, this is the group!

image Absolutely love this troop! My son came to this troop after his prior one was disbanded and he loves going to meetings and campouts. The leaders are really down-to-earth and easy to work with. My son is working on his Eagle Scout stuff now and they have been helping him along the way. We've had great memories/experiences with this troop.
