Excellent place to stay. Beautiful scenery. Peaceful and relaxing. Rooms: Very clean, comfortable great view Nearby activities: Games indoor and outdoor, fire pits, swimming indoor and outdoor. Game room. Great hall for gatherings. Safety: Locks on doors. Walkability: You are able to walk around the beautiful property. Food & drinks: The restaurant in the lodge is affordable and convenient. It is delicious

2024 Update: Disappointing Easter Dinner Experience Returning to Shawnee Lodge restaurant after an eight-year hiatus, our hopes for a pleasant Easter dinner were quickly dashed. The entire experience was a far cry from anything resembling a pleasant dining experience. The atmosphere lacked warmth and hospitality, reminiscent of a chaotic buffet scene rather than a holiday celebration. The vibe felt more akin to a Golden Corral, with patrons pulling chairs from other tables and filling their plates with a disorganized buffet selection. Unfortunately, the food offerings were lackluster, with desserts resembling frozen Sara Lee pies and entres leaving much to be desired. Items like baby carrots in butter and dry fish masquerading as salmon with mango salsa failed to meet expectations. Service was equally disappointing. Our waitress neglected to mention that drinks were included, leading to delays and reminders about our drink order. The lack of attention extended to the bill, arriving during our meal and signaling a rushed approach. Further exacerbating the experience, cleanliness was subpar, with uncleared tables and disruptive vacuuming nearby at the table next to us. During our meal, our waitress was largely absent, appearing only briefly to inquire about the bill and clear our table after we had finished eating. She seemed surprised when we requested our table be cleared to make room for dessert, as the empty plates had not previously been removed. In summary, the entire dining experience at Shawnee Lodge was marred by poor service, lackluster food offerings, and a general feeling of disorganization. TL;DR: $109.20+gratuity for three people. Poor service for a buffet experience. 2016 Review Summary: Disappointing Service My recent visit to Shawnee Lodge's restaurant left much to be desired, especially in terms of service. Despite frequenting the lodge for over three decades, I was disappointed by the decline in service quality. Upon arrival, we were met with an unattended hostess booth, setting a concerning tone for the evening. Despite minimal table occupancy, it took an unreasonably long time to be seated and attended to by our waitress, Kayla. Throughout the evening, service was slow and disjointed, with our waitress frequently disappearing into the kitchen. The bread served was cold and hard, and despite prompt ordering, our food took an excessive amount of time to arrive. Additionally, the lack of attention to detail was evident in the cluttered state of our table and the delay in receiving the check. In conclusion, while the Shawnee Lodge restaurant may offer decent food, the poor service experienced during my visit left much to be desired. I hope steps will be taken to address these issues for future guests' enjoyment.
