Absolutely amazing Philly cheesesteak sausages, garlic kielbasa, and Swiss cheese beef sticks. So fresh and the flavor is top notch. Stopped on a whim when passing through. Well be planning return trips this summer for plenty more and to try others. Gentlemen who helped us behind the meat counter (recommend the Swiss beef sticks, his concoction) was super friendly and helpful and answered any questions we had. Totally worth the 1 1/2 hour drive!

Their bacon goes bad within just a few days of purchase. It's happened several times to us. Make sure to ask about freshness date every time you buy at McConnell's. Also, their house brand fresh chicken is not of very high quality. If you go there for chicken, opt for their frozen whole chicken's in the cooler which come from Gerber Farms...not the fresh stuff in the deli case (an employee confirmed that the frozen birds are better quality, hence the slightly higher price). Also, they charge a hefty fee for using a credit card but don't tell you that. I'm a foodie who has spent years working as a Marketer in the packaged food industry and I cook quite a bit at home. I've found the meats at Costco to be fresher and better quality.

Business Response on Google Feb 15th, 2024
Our Housemade Bacon contains natural preservatives and will unlikely last fresh in your refrigerator for days like other big name stores you shop at. Our own housemade bacon we have just had in our case for just the last two days. Which bacon are you referring to? We would be glad to reiumburse you for your bacon if you are not happy, please bring your receipt in for full reiumbursement of the bacon. As we know, your connected to a disgruntled Employee and the statements you made are FALSE. All our chicken in the case and freezer is FRESH and same quality and many customers love all of our chicken. We carry Gerber and other brands of chicken that can meet all customers based on what they would like to spend. We do not make a housemade chicken in our processing facility – this is a FALSE statement. Far as a credit card fee – we have a sign at each register and is visible to all – we are not in business to deceive a customer. You may use DEBIT if you prefer or cash or check to avoid a credit card fee.
