Do NOT come here. Under any circumstances. Half the items are marked WRONG, and you bring it to the cashier, and she argues with you about the price. One of the managers, LISA, is actually the worst retail customer service worker Ive encountered. Had a bunch of scarves CLEARLY MARKED with a price tag .99. I bring them to the cashier, and she argues and catches an attitude with me. She says Youre telling me I dont know how to do my job? Actually yes, clearly you dont. Prove that clearly cats .99. She tried to tell me they were 3.99 each. The black lady with the piercings should be fired, and so should Lisa. Dont waste your money here. -THE SCARF LADY :)

I'm local to Mentor. I rarely go to this store as what they do have for my reselling isnt generally what I sell. I deal mostly in media. Bought a PC game - they tape their disc media up with tape that will hold the space shuttle together, then give you a dirty look when you remove it to inspect the disc. I got the game home, opened it and it was scratched WAY WAY WAY beyond any repair. I went back to the store and talked to a manager (Lisa?). She gave me nothing but attitude, stating: "You can check the discs... we tell all the customers to." I responded: "This tape is stronger than carbon fiber. Aside, you should have never put an item that is $3 out for sale that is so scratched." She responded: "We dont check items thoroughly." I replied, as I pointed a dress that had red stains on it, "you mean just like you didnt check to see if this dress has blood on it." Refused to refund me $3. Havent been back since. As a reseller, I shared the experience in local reseller (ebay and the like) groups to NOT GO TO MENTOR Salvation Army.

Store well stocked but prices are unbelievably high, especially considering everything is donated. Very disappointing.

The lady working the donations was extremely rude, gave unclear directions, and when queried, yelled and rolled her eyes. I feel for her pain, and also, don't need to deal with that again.

Business Response on Google Oct 8th, 2023
Thanks for sharing your comments. We believe our pricing is extremely competitive and do our best to provide value to our customers. As you know, the items we sell in our stores are donated by generous individuals and organizations; but they are certainly not free. The items must be picked up, sorted, priced and distributed to our stores. Unsold items must be returned to the warehouse and recycled. And there's rent, salaries, insurance and a host of other expenses any normal business incurs in its day-to-day operations. Of course, we're not "in business" to make a profit; rather, our stores exist primarily to fund our rehabilitation centers and other programs that help our community. These centers offer hope and help--free of charge--to men and women who've lost their way due to alcohol, drugs, homelessness and other life issues. Providing a low-cost alternative for families trying to save money is a wonderful benefit to our stores, but it is secondary to providing the means to operate over 80 such centers throughout the country.Having said that, people who truly cannot afford to shop in our stores are more than welcome to apply for assistance from The Salvation Army. Every day, a great many of your fellow shoppers are beneficiaries of this sort of assistance. They are provided with a voucher to get the clothing, furniture and other household items they need and, as they don't wear name tags or other identification, you'd be hard pressed to pick them out from any other customer. They are likely shopping right alongside you. If you feel you or someone you know might be in need of assistance to purchase items at our Family Stores, please call 800-SAL-ARMY and you'll be directed to a Salvation Army community center for assistance. Finally, items that are truly overpriced are marked down over time to as much as 50% off or 99 cents (whichever is lower). We hope you'll continue to be a part of this miracle in the future with your continued support of our stores.
