Glass City Federal Credit Union

My wife and I have been with GSFCU since the early 80s and have had very good experience up until about 5 years ago. They seem to have grown so much that customer service has not kept up. Most days, it's very hard to talk to someone when you call. If messages are left, they are very seldom returned. A few years ago, I applied for a credit limit increase on my credit card to boost my score which was already very good. but was turned down because the final approver did not like my reason. After that, we began in-kind transfers of our mutual funds and stock we had with the brokerage services they offered. We just discovered a few more investment accounts that were left over that were forgotten about, and are trying to move those now and the process has been very painful with the lack of communication and hoops that need to be jumped through.

Nasty customer service. Rude and unkind. Never would have financed here. Never will again. Who berates a senior citizen customer for 10 minutes on a phone call for forgetting to put the date on their check? They do. Who makes you drive 40 miles one way to put the date on the check? They do. Who sent it back because " they can't keep everything"? They do. Wrote a new check. Yep you deserve no respect, like you give your member customers.

This used to be a great bank, but now not so much. I called twice to get a loan -one for a travel trailer and once for a car and never got a call back. We have been members for over 25 years. The last straw is they let my credit card and debit card expire before sending me a new one. Credit card expired in November finally received a new card December 10th. My Debit card just expired and I have not received that one yet. Looks like everything that is set up to be automatically paid with my debit card will be declined. Thanks glass city, as long as I have to set up auto payment with a new card, it will be from a bank that still cares about their members.
