People usually write a review when something goes wrong. But today I'm taking the time to write this review to recognize the leadership and kindness of Mark Murzynowski, transportation Director security administrator for the Mason Ohio school district.Yesterday morning was challenging for families normal bus routine, because the bus driver is a sub.It was confusing because the bus parked on the wrong side of the street and it became unsafe for the kids to cross the street to get on the bus.As concerned parents we reach out to the transportation department to make them aware of the situation, but unfortunately the person we first spoke to , instead of listening and understand the reason of my phone call tried to defend the bus driver as if I called to blame the bus driver. When all along the point of my call is to give feedback on what was going on, on the ground, so that we can all work together as a team [Parents, Transportation Department, and Bus Drivers], to make it a safe environment for the kids. When word got to Mark Murzynowski, not only he listened to me but he called us back as he promised after talking to his staff,so he could understand what happened, and because of his tenacity. This morning Mark Murynowski drove to our bus stop and stood in the cold with 8 MECC students, and waited till the bus arrived to help the kids safely cross the street to get on the bus. All it took was 1 person to listen and it made a difference. Thanks Mark Murynowki, That's leadership and that is the type of leaders we need in our community.

Caring teachers, college readiness Both my children went to school at Mason. They had different needs which the school was able to meet. I believe that the district really prepares the students for college as there are lots of advanced placement and learning opportunities. Both had no trouble getting into or succeeding in college. They were able to find friends from all cultural and ethnic diversities. They participated in sports and as large as the school is, it is difficult to make a sports team at the school unless you are extremely motivated and dedicated to your sport which can be difficult. I found the coaches, teachers and support staff very helpful. We are glad we moved to the Mason school district.

Mason has a lot of work to do. The school needs to admit that there is something sinister happening behind its walls despite the appearance of the perfectly manicured, wealthy, white suburb that surrounds it. After every scandal including sexual misconduct by teachers, increased suicides, racial threats made by staff, all the administration tries to do is save face and maintain the school’s reputation. Sure, Mason has the funding to offer every sport, activity, or AP class imaginable, but at some point the focus needs to be the students’ wellbeing, not the amount to bullet points in a brochure.

Graduated in 2008 nice buildings, a few good teachers awful administrators and school board. Stay far far away especially considering the recent massive problems with racism. Mason schools and the city are g a r b a g e for the most part. Sorry if you're already stuck there dealing with it.
