When I called to schedule my initial appointment through the call center I could hear that I was on speaker phone and when explaining that I had been discharged from another facility due to paper work error the receptionist says "and now you'd like to be seen at our facility?" Very condescendingly. Upon arrival the staff seem very cut and dry, no real "you can do this" type attitude. I was in suboxone withdrawal which no one really seemed to care about. I was then seen by an extremely polite gentleman for my counselling assessment. I then had to schedule to see the Dr. The next day! I arrive the second day to find that the Dr didn't come in until an hour AFTER my arrival. I was then seen by a nurse who also lacked empathy and given a very dry assessment with no real personal touch. While waiting for the Dr. In a very open waiting room another client was taken back before me and I watched her move my chart into a different slot like, once again, me and my sobriety didn't matter. Not one time was I asked "how are you doing today?" In just a general human interaction of everyday life. Like I'm just a number to add dollars to a pay check.

About
First Step Recovery Center
About The Practice First Step Recovery Center offers the type of care everyone would want if they needed treatment for addiction. The team believes that treatment for a substance use disorder must encompass holistic care that addresses the addiction together with basic life concerns. They offer this type of comprehensive care at five offices in Reynoldsburg, Marion, Delaware, Lancaster, and Columbus, Ohio. The entire team at First Step Recovery Center believes in several core principles that guide their drug rehab and alcohol dependence programs. Their overriding goal is to give each patient the support needed for long-term success. They teach each person to take responsibility for their actions while providing treatment that addresses the physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual challenges that are involved. At every stage of recovery, the team treats substance abuse and violence by embracing the cultural dynamics that influence a person’s recovery. The services available at First Step Recovery Center include medically assisted treatment such as Suboxone, which gives each person a safe way to detox by treating withdrawal symptoms. Medical treatment for an opioid addiction, alcohol dependence, or other substance use disorder goes hand-in-hand with counseling. In addition to addiction medicine, the team provides addiction counseling and mental health care in the form of individual and group therapy. The team at First Step Recovery Center offers comprehensive services in several settings. Depending on each person’s needs, patients may get treatment through a standard outpatient program, intensive outpatient program, or partial hospitalization. They also offer residential treatment and crisis intervention. As patients progress through their recovery, the team provides ongoing medication management, case management, and a range of services to manage life concerns. Services like sober living housing, workforce development, life skills training, and organized peer support relieve the stress of managing everyday life so patients can focus on their recovery. To get compassionate care for an addiction, call First Step Recovery Center or book a consultation online today.
