Disaster; I had problems immediately with the customer service representative that works there when I called. She didn't know if they covered Ohio medicaid, and had an attitude toward me. I talked to the person she directed me to and they told me that they did take my insurance.
When I went there the next week, (today) the person at the front desk, presumably the first person I talked to on the phone, told me that she couldn't accept my insurance card because it wasn't up to date. I have been to 3 different providers since I have gotten this card, and have been to a new mental health service provider earlier this month, so I know that the card is still valid, albeit out of date. I had to call the insurance company myself, since the lady at the front desk was too lazy or incompetent to do it herself. Apparently she faxed then, and did not get a response. They declined services to me since they did not get a fast response from the fax, and I could not get through on my end with the phone call.
As a note, I suffer from anxiety, which includes, but is not limited to social anxiety. However, I almost blew up on the lady at the front desk because of her disdainful behavior. At one point when she was explaining that they would not be able to see me, she said "they don't pay anything anyway," referring to medicaid. It is all but obvious to me that she personally is disdainful to people who are on social programs. This business cares more about profits over patients. I would not go there if I still had private insurance. I fail to see how somebody with her attitude and utter incompetence is hired anywhere in private industry.
