Denny's

Food was great and our waitress was wonderful, the restaurant was fairly busy and she seemed to be the only one waiting tables, but despite that she stayed on top of everything. I desperately wish I remembered her name so she could be properly recognized for being amazing. I will definitely come again.

False advertising. On the highway it says open 24 hours. It is not. It is a ploy by the service station to get you to pull off the highway, and get your money, because hey, why not? You're already there. I was frustrated to cut into the timing on my trip to the Midwest for this ploy. Unless I see a Denny's that is its own brick and mortar building, not sharing with another company, I will not stop. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Denny's, but the deception to get travelers off the interstate to their location and then not being open for an entire 8 hours of their "OPEN 24 HRS" sign did not get them any kudos in this stop.

Food was very good but service was very slow..waited almost 10 minutes to be seated and there was only six other people in the place..took almost 15 minutes to get our drinks and another half hour to get our food. But the food was good and plentiful. I realize staffing is short handed but we could've at least been seated.

I normally love the pot roast dinner but I couldn't eat much of this one. It tasted funny to me though I couldn't pinpoint why. Just tasted wrong. Still great service with a clean pleasant atmosphere.

Walked in and literally stood there up front for nearly 15 minutes before being seated. A waitress yelled at me from the other end of the restaurant and said that they were in the middle of shift change and it would be awhile. Could of just said grab a seat anywhere and we'll get to you as soon as we can. They were probably hoping I would leave. But, I stuck it out to see just how bad it would get. I wasn't disappointed. Finally, was recognized, handed a menu and told if I sit at the counter I'd get served faster. Went to the counter and 30 minutes later someone finally came to take my order. Then waited another 30 to 35 minutes for my food which I literally ate within 10 minutes. The food was good and it was hot so can't complain about that. Everything was cooked as I ordered it. From the eggs to the hashbrowns. I made sure I got my ticket right after I got my food so I didn't have to wait for that. The only time I got really good and fast service was when I was walking out to pay. Someone was right there. Couldn't help but notice, that while I was waiting, all the loud chatting and talking going on in back and was really starting to wonder if this wasn't the biggest reason I was waiting so long. Sounded like they were having a good ol' time talking 'shop'. I'm not much up for Dennys these days and I try to avoid them as much as possible. But, I know their food is most likely to be better and fresher than the Deli selection at the Flying J counter, which is the real reason I stuck it out. And since I was pretty much done for the day, I had the time to wait this out. Want something fast, go somewhere else.
