TLDR: He pulled my credit report even after I told him explicitly that I do not want to proceed with the loan application. I had bad experience with this guy. We had our offer accepted on Monday night so we started to shop for mortgage rate. I found this broker on Google so I thought I would give it a shot. We had a call on Thursday around 10:30 AM and I asked him if he could give me a preliminary rate, and he said he will only provide numbers after I submit my loan application. I said okay and submitted my application after the phone call at around 11:43 AM. I also sent him a text message informing him I have submitted my application. He did not respond. Afterwards I talked to another loan agent and decided to do business with him, so I sent another text message to him saying I would not proceed with the loan application, that was around 10:03 PM. Again he did not respond. On Friday morning I waited all morning and did not receive any text messages/Emails from him. I assume he is too busy with the clients so I sent him an Email at around 1:26 PM confirming I would not proceed with the loan application. To my surprise he replied 'Why not? What happened?'. I did not respond because I was in a long meeting running all afternoon. What made things worse is, at around 4:30 PM, he pulled my credit report, left a hard pull on my credit report, after I told him twice that I would not proceed with the loan application. This action not only disregards my wishes but also negatively impacts my credit score. From the onset, I made it clear that I was only exploring my options and was not ready to make a decision. However, the agent seemed more interested in pushing through the loan application than respecting my decision. This lack of professionalism and disregard for a client's wishes is concerning and unacceptable.
