I went to this practice my entire life until I got really sick. When I was an adolescent, Dr. Elder believed I was anorexic even though I kept saying I wasnt and trying to prove to him I wasnt. It wasnt until I got a new PCP that I got referred to a nutritionist and dietitian in which it was discovered that I have an over active metabolism and I burn calories really fast because Im a very active person. At age 26 I got very sick and was in and out of the hospital and kept getting referred to my PCP to get a referral for a neurologist. For 3 months I kept going back and asking for a referral but kept being told that your body just needs to adjust. Dr. Elder finally gave me a referral because I kept asking. I requested a neurologist that specialized in headaches since that was my biggest problem being treated at the hospital and that was recommended. I got to the neurologist and he told me you need someone that specializes in headaches. Not only did I have to repeatedly ask for a referral, I didnt even get the referral I was medically suggested to get. I had to be with that neurologist for 3 months so he could show that he tried to help me and then referred me to someone I needed. In the mean time, my symptoms got worse and I was required to keep regular appointments with my PCP to monitor symptoms. I got released from the practice as a patient for missing appointments; well, its hard to get to appointments if you cant remember something that I would set multiple alarms for but forget why I was going to my car. I will live with last effects of not getting proper treatment. I have a new PCP that actually listens and takes my symptoms seriously. I dont recommend Dr. Elders practice.
