My mom and I used to come to Biddie's coach house every year on my birthday. I remember going as a little girl and thinking it was a "Grown Up Tea Party" the friendly staff always made the experience even more memorable for me. I used to get the Roast Beef sandwich and a cup of their broccoli cheddar soup (which was AMAZING) their quiche was delicious as well! I was so sad when I heard they were closing, because Biddie's always had such a special meaning to my mom and I. It was a place where we could play "Tea Party" when I was little, and a place where we could reminisce as I grew up. I will ALWAYS miss this place, and it will always hold a special place in my heart.

i'm sorry to say this but I kind of thought they would close. the service was not very guest friendly and very difficult to find a place to park, especially for an elderly person.....the woman, I believe the owner, was always so loud up at the front area.

I have been to Biddie's a few times with my twin daughters. For the last three or four years we have celebrated their birthday with Victorian Tea at Biddies. This year we suggested Biddie's as a Girl Scout troop activity. First off, Biddie's staff are very helpful and accomodating. They really go out of their way to provide a lovely experience. Each table is done with white linen tablecloths. Each place setting has a lovely China plate with a floral print as well as a cup and saucer. (generally unmatching, but that only adds to the charm.) We had two moms and five girls enjoy the tea. Another mom ordered off the regular lunch menu. If the girls did not want to drink tea, they could choose another drink off of the regular menu. One of the girls choose the country punch which I believe is cranberry juice and sprite. For the first course there was a delicious cream of broccoli soup. The girls had the option of choosing mac and cheese instead, but all decided on the soup. The soup came out in little heart shaped bowls. It was very tasty. I don't think anyone left any in her soup bowl. The second course were tea sandwiches. The children's sandwiches are more kid friendly, but quite varied. They had PBJ, egg salad, grilled cheese w/apple, and chicken salad in a phyllo cup. The adults also had the egg salad and the chicken salad phyllo cup. In addition, we had a tea sandwich of pimento cheese with ham salad, a cucumber cream cheese sandwich, and a slice of crusty bread (maybe french bread) topped with brie and an apple slice. The third course was the same for girls and moms: a wedge of gouda cheese, some fruits (red grapes, a slice of orange, and a slice of pineapple), and a fresh baked scone. This course was served with strawberry preserves and cream topping to spread on the scones. The fourth and final course was the dessert course. We moms could not finish our desserts and took ours home, but the girls finished theirs. There was a brownie with a caramel swirl and sprinkles of sea salt, a white cake topped with cream & a raspberry, and another little cake with chocolate whipped topping and a candied pecan. Some of the tea items will almost always be part of the tea menu such as the egg salad, chicken salad, fruit, cheese, and scones. Some of the tea sandwiches and desserts vary per week so you can expect a different experience each time. The only thing that is less than perfect is that instead of receiving a pot of tea, you are given a pot of water and a basket of tea bags. This does, however, give you more options in the various types of tea you can have. If you are with a small party, you might receive your own little teapot filled with hot water. This allows you to place your tea bag in your tea pot and brew your own tea. If you are in a larger party, you may have to share a large teapot of water so unless you are all getting the same type of tea, you would need to brew your tea individually per cup. This is not necessarily a bad thing. As I said you have more tea choices this way. The Victorian Tea is pricey, but overall well worth it.
