The experience that I have had with Gerstner Chests stems from my youth as a boy working in my grandfather's furniture shop. The place was a crowded mess of broken and damaged fine furniture in the 50's.I started out on the ground floor at 5 crawling around between a tangle of all sorts of wooden legs with a bench brush and dustpan sweeping the floor. The workbenches were a clutter of Jorgensen clamps, hammers, chisels, saws, planes, awls,Hyde glue cans, rags, and a few power tools in between. But when my uncle would need a special tool or fixture, granpa would retrieve it from The Gerstner Chest, and it sat above a handmade rack of sewing machine drawers out of harms way in granpas corner which was no mans land.I always suspected there were 50c pieces and quarter dollars and pieces of eight in one of the well kept Gerstner drawers. The point is,this was a highly respected area and curiously clean and wiped down only by granpa. There was no question that I never nose around in that corner. Next building over was my Fathers Barn that he used as a, Commercial Artist, for lettering signs and painting commercial pictures, portraits, silk screening, airbrushing, but mostly handlettering signs with finehair brushes. Most of his tools were out,but perfectly organized at point of use. However the special tools like fancy compasses, templates, select pens, pencils, erasers, colored chalks, stencils were in His Gerstner Chest. Neither of these shops were heated much, and insulation was unknown. There was a pot belly iron stove in each to warm shellac sticks and Hyde glue, but the work area was full dress winter coat and fedora, and steamy breath. Now thru all those years I retain these chests and the tools in them are to this day clean and rustfree. Now there were times when the front cover would swell shut, and they would not open, but come drier days, they would shrink back and the tools inside were perfect. The white oak sealed and kept the moisture instead. Well after all these years I needed a larger chest,I wanted a white oak Gerstner Chest, and by all things holy they are still here in Ohio! Making the same American invention by Americans! So as happy as I could be I bought the big pro series and it has not changed in quality or appearance.I dealt with Emily and She made the transaction smooth all the way.In fact,it was so good I am going to get another one and I don't know were I will put it or what to put in it! I am sure that will work itself out.We are so fortunate to have a company that has managers and employees that keep these priceless traditions alive and well. And what a wonderfull new chest I have now..ca

I ordered a Gerstner International GI-T22 Oak 11-Drawer Chest. The quality and construction of this chest are fantastic at a very reasonable price. The shipping to Canada was seemless and very fast. The customer service at Gerstner & Sons was amazing. I wouldn't hesitate to order from them again. Service: Delivery
