Parent was admitted for rehab stay at Bethany Village Linden Rehab center for 4 weeks. Overall, our family was unimpressed with the care they received. Staff seemed very curt and uninterested and were not attentive to parents needs. Parent was infrequently taken to bathroom or had attends checked and skin issues ensued. In addition the staff infrequently checked on them to ensure that they were safe or had needs Parent has cognitive decline and staff seemed not to take this into consideration with the infrequent interactions they had with them. Food was poor quality and parent did not eat much while there. Physical therapy was good and worked appropriately when parent was able to participate. Staff needs to improve how they interact with patients and family and needs to communicate better. There also needs to be a rounding board in every room that staff initials to ensure that patients are being checked on hourly. It does not take much effort to smile and ask pt if they need anything or just so some sort of gestures of kindness. Also, communicate with family daily goals and make sure they understand care plan and requirements that will be needed to take patient home. Staff didn't even bother tosay goodbye to parent when they were discharged. Staff please remember someday you may grow old and think about how you would want to be treated. Everyone deserves dignity and kindness.
