I was visiting a resident this past weekend, was only there an hour and a half and my car was broken into. My car was locked, and there was nothing of value inside my car. A call to management revealed there are no cameras in the parking lot, and it is not well lit. After making a police report, I discovered there have been four cars stolen out of this lot in the past 2 months. Management was informed, but their only solution was to put out a newsletter telling residents to be more careful and make sure to lock their vehicles.

Truly a 50/50 experience. In the beginning, there was a ton of back and forth on if I could move in. "Yes, no the other tenants are staying. Wait this one, no never mind, yes, no, when?" Once I got in the door it all seemed well. I documented the previous damage and the inspection sheet and it was emailed to the office. Things went ok for a month or so. Then I started getting ants bad, I fixed it with mint and set traps. Then the half bath smelled like smoke. The office woman, Jennenne at the time, was kind enough to bring in a uv type machine and let it run a weekend to 'help' with the smoke smell. I ended up just hanging dryer lint sheets to help with the smell. I ended up having to have the vents cleaned by professionals to help with breathing issues. Moving forward, needed a rail for the fridge door shelf and a towel rod for the main bath. The maintenance man, Tom, never brought a rail. So, I ended up using a yardstick and cut it down to size, to use. When he brought the towel rack it wasn't the right size, but he made it fit alright. Forced it and it ripped the porcelain wall support right off. He solved this by caulking the hell out of it. So, it was pushed out and at an angle... but he did it... During some rough rain, the wall in the master bathroom started leaking. They just said they would fix it when I moved out, I doubt it. Same issue with the leak in the master bath ceiling. It was from water getting out of the tub from the people above me. They also said that would be addressed when I move out (it was July and I was moving out in June). I was in a sub-level apartment, both apartments above me had dogs and there was always urine and feces falling into our patio. The last straw was the roaches. Instead of just admitting, "It's spring or we have work being done that could drive them out, it's an old building" I was given, "That's not us. Dayton has roaches in their sewers. But for legal reasons, they are called water bugs." Overall, it was ok and JUST ok. I think instead of just 2 people Jennenne and Tom.. they need an extra set of hands. This complex will either stay stagnant on care and service or it will SLOWLY rise up in several years..
