I had a bad experience with Dr Slaughter. My daughter follows with her after she suffered a brain injury at birth. I voiced my concerns to Dr. Slaughter concerning my daughters speech. I believe speech therapy could benefit her especially since she is at risk from her brain injury at birth. Dr Slaughter refused to write a referral for my daughter to receive speech therapy. Even though the therapy was going to be private and we were going to pay for it and use private insurance all we needed was a referral. It was upsetting to say the least. Please find a better more caring Dr. her excuse was the typical Im not comfortable writing a referral for speech therapy. REALLY! Its only going to help my daughter. But she just wouldnt do it. Then she sent in the NP who finally agreed a wrote me a referral. I cant stand doctors who dont want to take the time to do their job and refer everything to the NP
