Byron here! (Uh-oh!) The only reviews I respond to are ones like this, where there are two sides to every story and our side needs told. Starting with the must plays: this bride maxed out both the must play list (20 songs) and the play if possible songs (20 songs). On her timeline she only allocated 2 hours to dancing but also wanted those two hours interrupted by group photos (HS Friends, College Friends, Current & former Chase employees, Twin Beds Club) and an anniversary dance and a bouquet toss. So realistically an hour and a half. Jazmyn, her DJ, said the bride also went to change which took at least 15 minutes. We never play songs a couple requests if they are not able to be on the dance floor. So with an average song length of 3.5 minutes x 40 songs=2.5 hours of music. Even if you don't count the time the bride was out of the room Jazmyn had an hour and a half to play 2.5 hours of music. Of course she wasn't able to get to all of it. This is why I am in the comments section. As for the "custom" song: the bride emailed around Christmas asking about getting a copy of the custom splice. That seemed weird to me because we normally charge for that and I *usually* would have went straight to the DJ to ask them what was going on (because I wasn't at the planning meeting) but in this case Jazmyn was on vacation in Mexico preparing to propose to her fiancé. I wasn't going to interrupt that so I waited until Jazmyn got back to Ohio to figure out the scenario. Usually when people want custom cuts done in advance of the wedding we charge a fee as I mentioned, and I am the one that does the custom mix (and I knew nothing about this request). That's because they told Jazmyn it would be a simple cut from X:XX seconds to X:XX seconds and Jazmyn said it would be easy enough to do live and thus no custom track would be made and no charge. The week of the wedding this bride basically demanded that we send her the premade mix ahead of time (with no offer to pay as mentioned above). That's not what Jazmyn had agreed upon with them initially and after a couple of back and forth emails this bride just sent the file to us (which is an option I gave) and that's what we used the day of the wedding. To be honest, I don't like to be in the comments section. But I feel like when I get a review like this I *have* to defend our reputation. In fact, I went back and pulled the camera audio from the planning meeting with this bride *just to make sure* that Jazmyn didn't promise a song in advance and to make sure what I am saying here is true and accurate and, lo and behold, Jazmyn DID NOT promise a pre-made cut in advance. She told them that it would be done live at the wedding, all she needed were the times they would like omitted from said song. I will say it sounds like there was some degree of miscommunication here initially about the song and with Jazmyn getting engaged and being on vacation for the holidays it hampered our response time a bit. But at the end of the day, if not being miracle workers and getting 2.5 hours of music in a 1.5 hour dance floor and not giving something we didn't agree to makes us mediocre I guess it is what it is!
