Kiddie Academy of Downtown Columbus

I worked at kiddie academy for about a year and in the beginning it was great. Once the director left the one that hired me left everything went down hill. They have no idea what they are doing or how to run a daycare. They dont treat the teachers with respect at least. They hire teachers that have no idea what to do with kids and they let the preschool and pre k classroom just watch tv and not teach them anything. Some of the teachers are even aggressive with the kids and dont treat them the same. They have an Extremely high turn over rate because of how badly they treat the teachers. This daycare is the reason I will never work there again or any other daycare. I would not recommend this daycare ever.

I wouldnt recommend sending your child to this daycare. My Nephew was fairly New to this school and every single day they will call mom saying not so good things about him. Now they do NOT have a set of permanent teachers in the classrooms, they have different teachers every single day. They were being very Racist towards my nephew from the start. Dad picked My nephew up from school with a band aid on his neck NO REPORT was made, one of CASEY TEACHERS abused my nephew, he has scratches on the right side of his neck that looks like the teacher dug her nails in his NECK. Casey knew everything else BUT what happened to my nephew. Actions will be taken for what they did to my NEPHEW. Do NOT send your children to this school especially if your children can NOT verbalize Alot. My nephew was a victim of daycare Abuse, his story will not go UNNOTICED!

(+) We never felt like our child was unsafe. Our main teacher for our daughter was fantastic and very caring. The supporting staff and leadership was always very nice and willing to address our concerns. The facility is very clean. (-) We started in August 2023, after the first 2 months we were noticing a lot of turn over in staff. Throughout our time here, our daughter would come home in the wrong diapers, she was in and out of different classrooms daily (we never knew what room to drop her off), and the updates on the app would be inconsistent (we were unsure of her meals and nap times). Occasionally when we would pick up our daughter, she was sobbing while the support teacher was just sitting in a chair. Additionally, there seemed to be no structure around the curriculum, just open play -- and kids are not provided outdoor time here. It became a habit where I was talking to the Director at least once a week around concerns. In November 2023, we were seeing some additional changes that we thought needed parental consent first, so we decided to withdraw and find a new program with more structure, consistency, and focused curriculum around encouraging developmental milestones.

My daughter, myself, and my husband all love Kiddie Academy Downtown! She loves playing with her friends, and has a blast everyday. She loves her teacher, Ms. Mya, and has grown so close to her. My daughter is safe there, and I don't have to worry about something happening to her when she is at daycare. I know that they take good care of her.
