I am writing to express my disappointment and frustration with the unprofessional treatment I received from your billing department. I have been trying to obtain my EOB (Explanation of Benefits) from my visits to the doctor and E.R since January 10, 2024, but I have been constantly told that I am not allowed to have it. This is unacceptable and raises serious concerns about the way patients are treated at your facility. To make matters worse, the gentleman I spoke to (and I use that term very loosely) tried to mansplain to me when I tried to explain why I needed all my EOBs. When I requested to speak to a supervisor, he talked over me and then transferred me without giving any information to the woman who answered. Both of them then proceeded to hang up on me after I provided my personal information such as my telephone number, address, and date of birth. I was appalled by the lack of respect and consideration shown towards a patient. If this is the way your billing department treats patients, I can only imagine how patients are treated when they actually come into your facility for treatment. As a patient, I should feel comfortable and have faith in the hospital system, but my recent interactions have left me with serious doubts. It is unacceptable to treat patients as second-rate citizens. I did speak to a supervisor, who assured me that the gentleman would be coached. However, given my previous experience with your hospital, I have very little faith in that. My mother was supposed to be a direct admit into one of your hospitals, but she ended up waiting for 7 hours in the waiting room, almost dying. And it saddens me to know that two people actually did die because you refused to defer patients to another hospital system that could provide proper care. It seems like your priority is not to save lives, but to let people die. Is there some sort of incentive for this? I must also bring to your attention that in June 2023, I visited your ER and was treated out in the waiting room. I had absolutely no privacy, and everyone around could hear what the doctors were telling me. This is not only a violation of my privacy, but it is also disgusting and disrespectful towards patients. As if this wasn't enough, when I called the patient advocate's office to report the unprofessional behavior I encountered, I was told that they would reach out to me once their investigation was complete. It has been almost a year, and I am yet to receive a call back. This shows a lack of accountability and responsibility on your part. I hope this email brings to your attention the unacceptable treatment patients receive at your billing department. I urge you to take immediate action to ensure that such incidents do not occur in the future and that patients are treated with the dignity and respect they deserve. As a healthcare facility, it is your responsibility to prioritize patient care and well-being above everything else.

Dr. Winter out of the Seidman Cancer Center is amazing. All of the nurses were awesome as well minus one that didn't seem to care for her job. Thankfully it was one nurse and only one encounter with her. Zaira, Sarah and the other nurses were on point, caring and attentive. Anything asked they did. Only thing I didn't care for was the fact that they didn't seem to clean much and care for the room cleaning. I changed my dads sheets myself daily for him as I was there every day from morning to night. They seem to be either under staffed or the nurses don't have time between patients and the aids don't do much of anything when it comes to changing bed sheets, etc... We went there for the doctor and no other reason. As of right now, the doctor stated they removed 99% of the tumor and might have microscopic in the blood which he hopes will not return, but the surgery was a success and exactly the results he wanted which put my father into remission. I hope all this is really true and now on to full recovery for him. I would recommend Dr. Winter to anyone that is looking for an amazing doctor. He isn't talkative, but straight to the point, and VERY caring which is what I like about him. He spends time with you, he walked my dad personally and didn't wait for the nurses or the aids to walk him. He did it himself which proved more that he cares for his patients. If you are reading this Dr. Winter, we thank you!
