During my time here, I found that management (Tom and Dave) were everything but helpful. We had a leaky roof for the entirety of our residency and despite maintenance requests, the problem was never solved. We had buckets that collected water that dripped from cracks in the ceiling and brick face.

The maintenance is done but there is a conflict of interest with him living and working there. If he's off for the day he will be rude when ask about a maintenance issues which causes confusion because there isn't a direct line for contact. The apartments themselves are beautiful and spacious for a downtown apartment. Of course West St Claire can getting wild but it usually doesn't spread to superior as much. The prices are what you'd expect from a downtown apartment. The fire station is nearby so if you're a light sleeper it may affect you since they're always busy I'm used to it because of my military past. The only complaint would be that my particular apartment with a spiral staircase had no head way on the upper level and getting my bed and couches upstairs took a long while utilizing a pulley system and man power. This naturally caused me to have to Sawzall the couch to peices when I left because there was no way to get it down. But this is unique to only a specific amount of apartments since mine was on the 3rd floor. Karen and Dave were respectable and good landlords my only complaint is that some people were able to not pay rent for most of 2020 because of the spending measures from congress yet some of us paid every month like a responsible adult. I know the landlords hands were tied with eviction moratorium but this kind of policy allows for a moral dilemma since a contract is binding. Would definitely recommend this place if you do not want to live right downtown but still want to experience the city life. There is also tons of parking which is rare for city apartments making it easy to have family and friends plus there is a service elevator that can fit just about anything in it for public use.

Work orders are not responded to in a timely manner. Management does not respond.  Upon move out, we received no responses to our 'notices' until a bill charging us for an extra month and utilities for a time we did not live in the home was provided. Landlords would not even respond to emails, instead they sent mailed letters, weeks later in response to our emails.  Property Management 101- COMMUNICATE with your residents instead of screwing them over. I would never recommend anyone to live with this company based on the lack of response and lack of professionalism in handling resident accounts. The only thing we were asking for is communication and response and the experience could have been a world of difference.
