Clean building and large apartments. Building has cameras, security door, and garage parking. Best location in Shaker Heights by far.

I would not recommend living at the Parkland. I was promised the next parking spot in the garage when I moved here 15 months ago. I still don't have one despite tenants moving out and reaching out to the property managers several times. There has been construction on the street I have to take to my parking spot since I moved here and have even had to take detours to get to my spot (that I wouldn't have had to take had I been offered a garage spot). There have been other issues as well, but in general it is difficult to reach the property managers, many parts of the building smell bad, and there is no cell phone service. Of note, I have to stay elsewhere when I need to be available for work because the service is so bad.

The Parkland Apartments unfortunately are not a pleasant place to live. Aside from the condition of the building the rude tenants do not help the atmosphere. The building is extremely outdated and is poorly maintained. The hallways have old dirty carpet that never seems to get cleaned. The common areas are not maintained and the laundry room that is used by everyone in the building stays dirty to the point that it often smells. Along with the poor up keep, most of the tenants are extremely rude, they do not speak when spoken too and some in particular have been heard talking negatively about other tenants, for example a family member of mine over heard a tenant speaking negatively about another member of our family that lives in the building, referring to her as that black girl. As you can imagine this does not make for a very pleasant place to live and no one wants to live somewhere where that is how they are being addressed or referred to. Although I enjoy my apartment itself despite the need for updating, the building and the people in it do not make it a very pleasant place to live.
