We went to Dear with a party of three for an anniversary celebration. Ordered cocktails which were decent and then a charcuterie board which was the highlight of the meal although very pricey. We were told twice that there were four sommeliers on staff and were asked if we would like recommendations. My wife is a partner in a wine store and was looking forward to hearing another opinion on pairings. No sommelier ever visited us. When our wine was finally served, the bottle was placed in a bucket half way across the room. Not a problem with an attentive server but we experienced empty glasses multiple times due to lack of attention from the staff. Ordered dinner and two members of the party asked for a full lobster roll but we were informed that they were "only serving half portions tonight". What!? The hot Italian sausage entree was average at best and the fried potato side was no different then those that I prepare at home. The polenta was decent and about five times the portion of lobster roll that my dining partners ordered as a side dish. The cheesecake paired with sauternes was tasty but the chocolate cake paired with port was nothing special. The bill with tip for 3 of us totaled over $350. At that price point I expect a special experience and this was average at best. I had been looking forward to trying Dear for a long time and left disappointed.

Nice place (used to be a bank), good service, and nice food - just a little too expensive for what you get. Highly recommend the fried mushrooms as a side. Charcuterie boards are very popular and are good, but very small portions

The most incredible dining experience of my life! I cant say enough about the staff and the food. From start to finish every detail was exceptional. Every need was tended to in a moments notice. Everyone was so friendly and my meal was maybe the best meal Ive had in my lifetime. My fiancé and I booked our rehearsal dinner here for the fall and I CANNOT WAIT!!!! We will be back before then!!
