Sur La Table

Was there for Fathers Day they were set up for two groups we were the third group. I bought this thing so my niece could learn how to cook and be hands on. The wings we made were premade and marinated so all we did was dump them on a tray and the instructor put them in the oven. BBQ sauce we made was Montgomery inn sauce with brown sugar so we poured brown sugar in and reduced it. Was really the only think my niece got to do. Then we made pizza dough was premade all we did was roll it out all the toppings were already made. For desert all we made was whipped topping. The class I took at the learning kitchen was way more hands on and we had our own stations we did not have to share every task. I felt this was a waste of time resulting in my niece being bored for her birthday present. She was withdrawn due to lack of involvement. I do not recommend maybe if they did not over book it it might have been a little different but the learning kitchen is way better either way.

The Sur La Table class is a fun and great date option. That being said, your instructor can make or break it. The food and cooking part is 5 stars alone. We did the Latin steak dinner night and loved what we made, and how everything was set up. I wasn't sure what to expect but you work in groups of four. Now for our instructor. She was kinda rude? Very condescending and acted very superior. I understand messing around, but being short when we're paying $90 a person, is not it. It really felt as if she didn't want to be there. I have another class coming up in Columbus so I'm eager to see how the experiences compare!

Went here to buy a gift and the man who checked me out was very rude. I stood in line behind another lady and when she left, I walked up to the counter. After being ignored for two minutes, I was greeting with a Do you need something? I said Yes I wanted to buy this. He then tried to tell me many times that I was inserting my card wrong? I had to tell him I wasnt. He wouldnt follow through with the payment method until I told him I had it in the right way. He also tried to charge me for the class I didnt attend and acted weird when I told him we werent part of the class. He was very rude and Im giving two stars instead of one because I like the items they sell. They should work on their customer service a little more (coming from a customer service worker).
