I really didn’t want to have to leave this review but the service and subsequent interaction with the owner merits a review.I use to go to this garage 20 years ago and they always treated me right and at a fair price. Unfortunately, that is no longer the case. I was spending time in my home town and thought I might save a few bucks by going local to what use to be a dependable garage for regular brake maintenance. I called to get a quote on rear pads and rotors and they gave me a good price and said they could do the job.Upon picking up my car, I was informed my brake light might come on from time to time. I told them no lights were on when I brought it in. He explained what the issue was but I guess I was a bit perplexed as I wouldn’t think a mechanic would break something and not repair it. I had to get back to work so I left. Upon getting into my car I had 3 safety messages and 2 idiot lights on.At this point I assumed they would make it right and I wanted to give them the opportunity to do so. I gave them a call and reexplained the issue. He took no liability. I asked him how he put the car into “maintenance modeâ€? (This needs to be done on newer cars as it releases the electronic parking brake). This can be done through a computer or manually. He then said, “I didn’t put it in maintenance mode, and you don’t have toâ€. The owners manual or a quick google search begs to differ. What happens if you don’t do it, is it fries the EBS which leads to the whole caliper needing to be replaced and if you care about your car’s performance you should replace both at the same time. He tried to say both sides would be bad if he did it wrong. I told him, “it sounds like you got lucky on one side†and as it turns out, the dealership 100% agrees.I took my car for standard maintenance ($300) and left with a mechanical issue that will cost me well over $1000 to repair. We all make mistakes but not living up to them and making it right speaks to a business/person’s character. If you have a car you’re just trying to keep on the road or get running this may be the place for you, but if you have a car made after 2009 that you care about and want it to run well then you should definitely not go here!!
