Pharmacist refused to fill a prescription for my 9 year old daughter. Told both myself and my daughters doctor that he did not think the dosage was appropriate for my daughter. This pharmacist has never set eyes on my daughter, let alone know her medical history. This prescription was originally written by her psychiatrist and her pediatrician renewed it for us because we were unable to meet with the psychiatrist due to the social distancing rules and we ended up at Sams Club because no other pharmacy in the area has been able to get this medication in. We have had no problems filling it anywhere else over the past several months and she has been on other dosages of this medication since she was 4. I really want to ask Sams Club exactly WHY they are employing a pharmacist who feels that they have the right to deny a CHILD (that they have never seen) medication that has been prescribed by a doctor and a psychiatrist who have had her under their care for 6 years. My doctor even personally spoke to the pharmacist to implore him to fill this prescription. He refused and then had the gall to call ME to explain (read lecture) on why he did not think my child should be on this medication. So, no. I will never drop off a prescription again at this pharmacy. I prefer people with actual medical degrees choose what medication is appropriate for my child Not someone who wears a white coat who apparently has delusions that they are a qualified medical professional.
