Love her, what a breath of fresh air. I felt immediately at ease with her, and she took all the time that was needed for me to express my needs while then giving me excellent information and feedback regarding my care. I highly, highly recommend Dr. Mandel to anyone who wants a caring, informative, nonjudgemental person to work with and address their medical/medication needs.

*PLEASE READ REVISION BELOW: Truly a life saver. I never have been able to get good mental health services and prescriptions until I met her. Now my medication is well balanced and I feel happy way more than I ever have in my life. Who knew I had to move all the way to Ohio to get good mental health, thanks Laurie *UPDATE: I wouldn't recommend her at this point. I called her office Saturday to get my my rx. I left a message because I knew that she would be closed. Monday the receptionist called back and said that she wouldn't be filling my Rx until I had an appointment. I let her know I had 1 day left (totally my fault). She said she's not filling any prescriptions for me until I have an appointment and that I haven't seen her since July. Which was true because she told me that she was going on some extended vacation and that she wasn't going to be available. In October I emailed the office and told them that I felt that I needed a medication change but never heard back from them. So I've been waiting for a medication change and now I am out and have to have an appointment before I get a refill from a dr I've been seeing for more than a year... The receptionist offered me an appointment at 830 pm Wednesday the 22nd the night before Thanksgiving... So that means I'd be out Tuesday Wednesday Thursday and Friday if she had her way. Additionally she said that I had to pay for an appointment she says I missed a year and a half ago. which is weird because Medicare covers my ENTIRE appointment but now that I'm insisting that she AT THE LEAST NOT DEPRIVE ME OF MY MEDICINE THAT CHANGED MY LIFE TO THE POINT I WROTE THE PREVIOUS REVIEW ABOVE now I'm hit with another barrier. She wants $75 fee (why wouldn't my medicare pay for that?? Hmmmm??) before the appointment or she wouldn't see me. I'm on a fixed income I don't just have $75 laying around. I would have to pay that when I get my disability check. Which wouldn't be until the 3rd of the month... Then the final insult to injury was she cancelled my appointment. She said I also had to find a new practitioner. I was willing to do anything to not feel like I'm losing my control of my life again and I think she took advantage of that. I think she was using strong arm tactics to get me to conform to what I believed was bad treatment. I feel like the power she has over your life is immense if you truly need help. I think she abused that trust with me. If you choose her as a practioner be aware that in my situation their was a level of petty vengeance I wouldn't expect from a professional.
