I had my first appointment yesterday with Dr. Kafalis and found him to be pleasant, prepared and knowledgeable. Although I have taken the same medication for almost 30 years, and have had problems with constipation for decades, he is the first doctor to draw a possible connection between the two...
I still need the offending medication, but he prescribed something to counteract the constipation side - effect. Now I won't be relying just on fiber and otc stool softeners.

Dr. Shaheen and his staff are THE BEST! I am a newer patient to this office and I feel more than blessed to have found such an amazing physician. Dr. Shaheen takes the time to listen, to diagnose and treat, and his bedside manner is hands-down the best I have ever experienced. His assistant Julie is also top-notch and always willing to answer questions and help in any way that she can. If you are in need of a gastroenterologist who truly cares about their patients, Dr. Shaheen is your guy.
