Very happy with this practice. Definitely kid-friendly, from the moment you walk in. The waiting room is decorated like a jungle and filled with toys, books and games. All the hygenists have been friendly and gentle and will explain each tool and procedure to the kids. Very young children are encouraged to sit on mom or dad's lap to make the experience less scary. Dentists are thorough and friendly. My kids actually love going to the dentist and I know it's because we've had such great experiences at this practice.

My five-year-old son was recently referred to this office due to some complicated dental work he required as a result of irregular checkups during the Pandemic. Initially we were told that the best option was hospital dentistry: they recommended a lengthy, expensive procedure under general anesthesia (it would have been expensive because it was not covered by insurance since it was not medically necessary). Neither his primary dentist, his primary care provider, nor I were comfortable with this option. Our primary dentist brought him back into her office on two occasions to do some of the work, leaving one area for the pediatric dentist to complete. Each time he saw our primary dentist I sat next to him. He was an easy patient. He wasnt wiggly or nervous. He sat still and held his mouth open. I held his hands while he was being numbed. He didnt cry or wince or complain. He was content to watch a cartoon and know that I was sitting in the corner during the procedure. At Dentistry 4 Kids, however, I was told that I was not permitted back in the room because it was their experience that parents make children nervous and get in the way. (The rooms here are much bigger than at the regular dentist and Ive never made any of my TWELVE kids nervous or gotten in the way of ANY medical procedure before.) They promised they would come get me if there was a problem or he needed me. They were wrong and they lied. He was SCREAMING for an agonizing amount of time and everyone in the waiting room could hear him. Eventually the dentist stopped working, came to tell me he was just being very vocal but wasnt in any pain, she insisted he was well-numbed, and said she was going to continue the procedure but would come get me if he got upset. This was another set of lies. After listening to him scream and call out for help for more than ten more minutes, I insisted on going back to the room. My son was absolutely distraught. I have NEVER seen him so upset before. He was being traumatized. I was able to calm him by holding his hands once he saw that I was in the room with him. However, much to my horror, every time she touched his tooth, he winced, screamed, and cried out in agony. He was SOBBING and CLEARLY not properly medicated for the procedure. I dont know if this woman is vindictive or just incompetent, but she will surely never touch one of my children again. She owes my family a refund for shoddy dentistry and she owes my son a sincere apology. Furthermore, the policy of this office to separate children from their parents is not a best practice and is, frankly, quite suspicious. The strong-arm tactics they use are transparent and tantamount to medical bullying.
