Do not recommend this daycare if you child learns differently or is different from other kids. Well words from Mrs. Brown Normal kids. I feel as if my son was discriminated against because he is delayed in certain areas. Instead of daycare doing their jobs which is taking care of my son. Mrs Brown decided she want to self diagnose my son and tell me that I dont want to admit something is wrong with my child. After I told her my son was in a program for early intervention (she said my son was in a MRDD program). As a mother and human I am disgusted by the ignorance. I just wish they found a way to teach my son they way he was comfortable being taught and having patience because hes still a child. I hate we had to experience this but, it wont be the first or last time. Sorry not this location but the one for kids 6lbs-24mths

This center is extremely unprofessional, disorganized and disrespectful. The director has a nasty attitude. The management lacks in common communication skills and do not pay their employees. There are no employee policies in place or paperwork. The staff does not use positive discipline tactics or attempt to figure out children's need through interests and play, constant yelling and embarrassment of the children.

Every place has its pros and cons. And not every place is for everyone.
This is a non profit organization, so as far as pay goes don't expect to receive top dollar. Is it rewarding? Absolutely. The paid time off is great and easy to earn!! The center director works extremely hard to keep the center as safe and comfortable for the children, parents and teachers as possible. Working in child care is always challenging. It's not for everyone, you HAVE to have the passion and desire to make a difference in children's lives.
It has a home-like and relaxed environment. And the education is very important. At Wonder World they spend 80% of their waking time focusing on educating the children. I have worked in child care for 11 years and this is the best center I have worked for. The quality of the care these children get is by far the best. This center supports the african american community, and understands that every child needs special care in their own way. At Wonder World the teachers go above and beyond to teach and care for these children in the best and most loving way possible, and they make a lot of accommodations for each child, more than most centers will.
Some children learn best by being in an environment similar to their home life. If you want your children in an environment that is fun, safe, educating, and where your child is treated like family then this is the perfect place for your child.
