Edited after response to address some misleading things stated. They have been added to the end. Im honestly confused at this point how we have had such an opposite experience as these other reviews. It was the reviews that convinced us that Hausen Law was the correct lawyer for us. The initial phone call-whoever that was-you were so kind and nice. My review does not include the comfort that person offered. However after we agreed to obtain counsel from them, its been nothing but headache after headache. The price changed three times after the initial quote. When we had questions over these changes, we were met with hostility. Which is humorous as when you go to their office- they have paper taped to the walls everywhere about being respectful. Upon finally getting to the final hearing-we found out just how much more we paid compared to the others declaring their lawyer fees, that we needed to turn in our tax return, AND our HSA ACCOUNT was subject to forfeiture from the date of filing. Why is this an issue? It was never once discussed with us. We use our HSA as our entire house needs monthly medication so now there is a possibility of having to repay money that we didnt even know we werent supposed to spend and after paying $1900 and being told we had secured the proper things and planned to utilize taxes to finishs off our debts, that was a huge surprise to see well that may not happen. There is no accountability for this office. When Im paying you almost $900 more than ANYONE else in that room and we are still getting hit with surprises, thats not the indicator of a job well done. When we question it, understandably upset, and they say well I guess you dont want to talk, thats not an indicator of a job well done. As if this wasnt a stressful and painful enough situation, our family is left wondering when we will stop seeing more surprises so we can finally start anew. Unfortunately this is our truth and experience. I wish others the best of luck in their journey. Additional information- *We paid the filing fee before any work could be done. And yes we paid the balance off sooner than they said it needed. *We arent upset about the signs, its the contradictory behavior from your signs to your professional behavior. *You are correct that I am not the actual client, but the wife of your client and youve had no issues not only communicating with me but also having me pay you. *while these may be common practices for the trustee to ask for additional documentation, our frustration (and additionally why we said surprises) is because no one communicated he would request additional items. THAT is why there is negative impressions. You did not actually prep my husband 100% *I have all of the emails and documentation from the multiple things we were told. *we were sent home with a secondary clients paperwork with all of his personal info and was simply told to shred it which we did. * you are right, the check was being garnished. Thank you for shaming us with the amount. Truly professional. * we asked multiple times for clarification and was met, almost always (I can think of 2 instances where we were not) met with arrogance in the fact we even had questions. * People come to a lawyer because they have no other choice. I was curious how they would address true constructive criticism and Im not surprised. The call after the trustee meeting did not go smoothly. Again met with arrogance over the fact my husband was caught off guard and had questions why he wasnt prepped before hand about being told to hand in additional items and ultimately money. * as I said- the person who did the free consultation was amazing! He spoke with compassion and gave us a very broke down expectation of costs AND a discount. None of that is what happened (even when it was switched BACK to a 7) *I am happy so many others had great experiences. But those reviews were not what our family experienced. Its been nothing but a battle and nothing has seemed calming about this experience EXCEPT that initial phone call.

For the record Kim is not our client, but her husband is. We answered all my client’s questions. Nothing to be confused about regarding the 5-star reviews we received, all TRUE and ACCURATE. The reason they gave us 5 stars is because we provided them with excellent customer service. We also have signs up in our office that say ‘No Jerks allowed’ because we do not want jerks who demonstrate bad behavior in our office (I am sure you understand this). We have already experienced a couple so far, angry and rude. So, this is not TRUE when you say we have it posted all over our walls, that’s an exaggeration. Sorry you feel so upset about the signs. It’s NORMAL to have signs. Honestly you are the ONLY one that had a problem with that sign. Others understand because there are some jerks out there who are hostile and angry. Here’s the story of Mr. Wiles ( his wife stated that the price changed three times). False statement. Maybe you don’t understand but the price did not change, it was a different Chapter with a different price. It’s important to see both sides of the story. Here’s what took place. My legal consultant did the FREE ½ CONSULT. The client told him he is being garnished and would like to file ASAP. The Legal Consultant said OK and he understands. I have a staff, and everyone has a role at this law firm. We are very sympathetic to everyone’s situation. We understand it’s not easy, this is why people see an attorney for bankruptcy. Once Mr. Wiles was done with his consultation and he was scheduled for his Onboarding Call with my associate on 12/22/23 My associate went over ALL the legal stuff with the client making sure he qualifies for Chapter 7 or 13. During his conversation he told Mr. Wiles that he must do Chapter 13 due to higher income. We went ahead and signed him up for Chapter 13 at that point. Then the case was handed off to the case manager so she could get started and prepare the petition. The case manager plugged in the paystubs and ran the numbers for the means test. Then once she received all the pay stubs and ran the numbers for the means test, it showed that Mr. Wiles can barely qualify for Chapter 7. When the petition was done it was handed off to me to review. I investigated the case more carefully and said, I think he can file Chapter 7. Let’s get him in for Chapter 7 (this is awesome). At this stage the price is for a C7. The client will have to pay more money. We can’t do work and not get paid. Bankruptcy involves a lot of work. My associate contacted him and told him that he can file Chapter 7 and the price will be different like the original phone call. Client agreed. Lots of communication took place back and forth with professionalism and friendliness also with Kim who is not our client. Mr. Wiles wanted to file bankruptcy right away because he was being GARNISHED approximately $551.74 biweekly, so we ACTED and STOPPED his garnishment WITHOUT ALL the fees being paid in full. So glad it got STOPPED. We put the rest of the fees on a payment plan, but Kim ended up paying the remaining balance after he filed. Let’s fast forward. My client had his trustee meeting on 3/6/23 and the meeting went well. All the trustee wanted is his 2023 Taxes Returns and HSA Statement which we haven’t received yet. Still waiting. On our end we did not do a follow up for the HSA and yes we are wrong on this part only, but we always ask for bank statements ahead of time. Those can both be assets in bankruptcy. It’s NORMAL for trustees to ask for this information. You are not being hit with SURPRISES. That is standard for all bankruptcy cases. People are more than welcome to go to a cheap attorney, that’s their choice but we charge more because I have a staff and we get things done and communicate constantly with the clients. This is our TRUTH, and we provided a Good EXPERIENCE. If Mr. Wiles needs me to call him, I will be more than happy to explain what the trustee needs and go over it with him.Thank you.
