2 days after my brother passed away the nursing home called me to figure out who was going to pay the $58.00 bill that was outstanding. 2 DAYS!Also, I found a journal he was keeping where he stated he was being totally ignored and felt the response time was unsafe.

I have been here at ManorCare for about a year. The therapy is great and offer a lot of exercises. Staff make it easy to connect with and are friendly. They have been helping me a lot. The call light times aren’t long, but sometimes they do get busy. I really enjoy the activities and volunteering to stay busy. I like to stay active and this helps. The food is pretty good. Dietary staff are nice and make special items if you ask.

I have been here at Manor Care for 5 months and will be discharging tomorrow. The room is very comfortable. The caregivers are very helpful and go above and beyond. Food is pretty good. It doesn’t take long for call light times. Therapy was tough, but it has to be that way. They don’t push you beyond your limits. It was good. I have came along way.

The nursing staff is excellent and they put up with my questions about what they were doing and what they were giving me in meds. Also I needed them for breathing treatment at night and they did not even grumble. The therapist seems to be very well in knowledge and caring. The food and I did not get along the first day but I talked with the dietitian and she was able to inform me about all the options for healthy food but that I would like. The social worker and administration staff worked hard and went above the call and saved a room and bed for over a week due to me being hospitalized again in between acceptance and actually being medically able to go to a nursing home. Update on 7-17-18 Please share the following update and praise report to any one wondering if Manor Care is a great place: When i went into the hospital on 6-15 i was unable to walk 10 feet without almost passing out - praise God I have come along way. Now i am usually able to ride the standing bike 25 min - 10.4 Km in distance and i walk with a walker and someone behind me with a wheelchair - i usually go about 200 feet stop and then go the other 110 feet to my room. The staff cares about me. When I have a bad day and get grumpy they give me space to work it out or they ask me if I am ok. Other times when I am very emotional and crying Shannon or Kathy will lend a ear and even give a hug when needed. Thanks for being such a great place for my rehab.
