Meridian Restaurant

We explored several restaurants to celebrate my birthday. After careful research we chose this place and it did NOT disappoint. The waitress was lovely, she gave us great descriptions of the food. Im so glad we chose the mussels for our starter. The sauce was amazing they packed the extra sauce for us to take home, apparently we werent the first to ask for it. We chose a quiet week day night. The ambiance was nice, the restaurant felt a little too quiet for the amazing food and service. We are planning to return soon, great experience overall.

Meridian is a high quality restaurant. Dont let the neighborhood keep you from coming here. There is ample reserved parking around the corner. We - four of us - arrived at 5:15 on a Saturday evening. Since we had been to Meridian several times before, we were not the least bit dismayed to see we were the only ones in the restaurant. In fact, we enjoyed that. Even though our waiter, Dave, was fairly new to Meridian, he described food and drink as though he had been there years. Service was outstanding. Quality of food was excellent. Scallops, NY strip, group with shrimp were our main course orders. Those followed apps of calamari and steak tartar. We recommend all of those dishes. The reason for only four stars is that both scallop dishes came with three scallops, and they werent all that large. However, as mentioned earlier, they were very nicely and deliciously prepared. We will return to Meridian when in Winston-Salem.

Truly had a great experience. The service was top notch and the food was wonderful. Kelley and David did an awesome job. The setting is very classy, intimate and professional. We look forward to returning and will definitely spread the word.
