    If I could give Doctor Tyler 100 stars, I would. His care and training have been invaluable to me. I am incredibly thankful that I found him when I initially injured my back and had a bulging disc-I was in such a scary place and he helped me understand everything, offered hope and practical help and helped get back to a place of functioning. Please please please go see him for your PT needs, you will not regret it!

    I went to see Dr. Tyler Shelton after almost two years of back pain. My MRI revealed I had bulging discs in my back and it was affecting my entire life. While my chiropractor helped me a lot, I still had pain and had a hard time making it through a workday. I researched and found Dr. Shelton when looking for a doctor that practiced the McGill method and he was AMAZING! He spent a lot of time with me me running me through tests so he would know exactly where my pain was and then gave me specific instructions on what to do to fix it. He checked in with me regularly afterwards and his care and customer service was better than I have ever experienced from a doctor. I HIGHLY recommend him.

    In September 2022, after suffering lower back pain for several months and ignoring it like an idiot, I experienced a very painful spasm in my lower back doing squats in the gym. I went to the ER, PCP, Orthopedic Doc and PT, and Chiro, desperate to find a way out of the pain and get my life back. No one could give me a real diagnosis, and nothing seemed to help. My back health continued to decline, and in December I had another bad spasm when I bent over to pick up something in the garage. This time, I developed sciatic nerve pain that was so bad I wanted to crawl into a hole and die but that would have hurt too much so I stayed in bed and survived. During this time, my brother recommended Stu McGill's book Back Mechanic, and after reading it I finally felt like I knew what was going on with my pain and what had led to it. I researched McGill Certified Practitioners, and that's when I found Dr. Shelton. Initially, my thought was to give it a few months, and if it didn't work try to find a neurosurgeon and get a microdiscectomy. I am so glad I did. Dr. Shelton was the only doctor I talked to who actually took the time to thoroughly listen and clinically examine me (not saying those other docs were bad people, but the modern healthcare system is an unwinnable game played against back pain patients with docs stuck in the middle). Dr Shelton was the only doc to correctly diagnose my issue (L5-S1 herniation), which was later confirmed by MRI. Working with him over the last 6 months, I have gone from barely being able to make it through the day with Gabapentin and Naproxen to being pain free many days, doing yard work, walking 4-5 miles a day, and we are now starting to incorporate some core building exercises with weights. Overcoming back pain is not an easy road, but if you want to avoid surgery I cannot recommend Dr. Shelton enough.

    When I first reached out to Tyler I was suffering from back pain that would come and go but at the time of my first visit the pain was a daily hindrance. Prior to meeting with Tyler I worked with two Physical Therapists in town that assigned me exercises that I had already been tirelessly trying offering only minimal pain relief. I was feeling quite hopeless. I saw Tylers website and based on the information I read, I immediately called him to make an appointment. When we met, Tyler conducted an extensive consultation, assigned only a few simple exercises for me to do and offered me ways to find positions of relief if I did feel pain during my day. After one week of Tylers very simple and comprehensive course of treatment, I felt like a new person and was in disbelief of the night and day difference I felt after such a short time doing the work assigned to me. Humbling myself, I learned how to stand, sit, lift objects and retrain my body to adjust to having my back in a safe and neutral position during movement. As someone who works on their feet all day, these functional tips allowed my body to move better while at work and my back pain is non-existent where in the past I would have to lie on the floor to find relief after a long day of work. I never thought I would be living a life without back pain like I am now. Tyler Shelton is the answer for sure. Go check him out now.
