I was already skeptical about working with Wells Fargo for a mortgage due to bad reviews I read on several sources. My experience with Teresa Poehlman confirmed why Wells Fargo has bad reviews. I initiated an interest in applying for a mortgage online and was contacted via email by Teresa. She answered some questions that I had and then we set up a time that day to chat and for me to provide her some information. Prior to me calling her I took the time to gather requested documents that she requested in order to make the application process go smoother. I emailed all documents to her two hours or more earlier than our scheduled meeting. After our hour long phone conversation in which I provided my SSN and other personal info such as salary, job history, etc, which by the way she would have known if she would have taken the time to look at my paperwork that I emailed to her prior to our call. She ended the call by telling me she would follow up with me the following day which was a Saturday. I thought that was awkward, but I assumed well maybe some mortgage consultants do work on Saturdays. So Saturday comes and goes and I did not hear anything from her. No biggie I thought to myself, I can wait until Monday. I waited until around 9:30 a.m. on Monday and I had still not heard anything from her so I decided to send her an email for a follow-up. She responded stating she had an family emergency that weekend. I was very understanding of this. She also stated she would be working on my application that morning and I would hear from her later that day. So the afternoon time comes and goes and I still had not heard anything so I called the Wells Fargo mortgage customer service center and provided my information and ask if my application had at least been started. I was told no. She had not even uploaded the documents that I took the time to gather and send to her. At that point I became very irate and upset because I took the time to gather documents that were requested, sit on the phone with her for an hour or more to provide my information, lift the credit freeze so that my credit could be pulled, and she did nothing that she said she stated she was going to do. I am in no way insensitive and I understand that life happens. I just feel like my time was wasted and I do not appreciate it. If it was something that she could not handle promptly it should have been passed on to a coworker or her manager that had more time.
