Today, I walked into this store which look like they have great suits from the outside. I was greeted by a person that was eating at the front desk. After a few minutes of complete silence, I told this person I needed a summer suit. He called another salesperson and told him to wait on me. This other salesperson (I dont know if he was the owner or not), after I told him that I was looking for a summer suit, said he didnt think there was anything for me and that Id be better off having a custom-made suit. I know I am short, overweight, and Hispanic, but I needed to ask again because I couldnt believe what I heard. I asked, Are you sure I cant get a suit, and maybe your company can fix it? This person told me again that I would be better off having a custom-made suit. He even recommended a famous tailor in Winston-Salem. Let me tell you, it felt like he didnt want to have anything to do with me. I faced subtle discrimination in the past, but honestly, I thought that was behind me. I was wrong. I couldnt stop feeling so humiliated and discriminated against. Today was a sad moment for me.
