Hotel Indigo Winston-Salem Downtown, an IHG Hotel

The staff was very nice and welcoming. Rooms: The rooms weren't to bad,my only complaint is for the amount of money one spends to stay there,I would think they would have microwave and mini fridge inside the rooms..or at least a microwave ...that's my major complaint for the price you spend to stay two nights or more.

Nice room, comfortable linens. Exceptionally quiet considering the downtown location. Would have loved a small refrigerator in the room. Front desk attendant Blaze is wonderful, kind, and most understanding! Thanks for your smile and the hospitality, Blaze! Safety: Arriving late (after valet service had ended for the night), there was no designated place to park short term for checking in and no one was answering the hotel phone to provide guidance. I was a bit nervous as I'd never been to this hotel/downtown area before. I waited until some questionable individuals who were hanging around had moved on and then decided to walk to the front hotel entrance. A very kind front desk attendant buzzed me in and even opened the side door so I would be closer to my car; she stayed with me until I had collected my bags. I am most grateful for her kindness and understanding. Walkability: Easy to walk a couple blocks to great restaurants with business colleagues.

I stay in a lot of hotels, and this hotel was cool, but there were just a few things that could have been better First off, the service here is excellent - everyone is very professional and the Valet team is excellent, and very helpful The location is good, and fairly convenient, but you really do need the Valet - there is no parking nearby. For those walking, the Innovation Quarter is under construction, so the entire block behind the hotel is under construction, and there is no street parking. The construction isn't loud or anything - just inconvenient and in the way. The room itself was alright - I love the historic feeling of the building, but becuase it is historic, it's quite creaky, and you can hear a lot of the other patrons. My particular shower wasn't the best, but it was fine. The beds are very comfortable Overall a good stay in a good part of Downtown, with good staff Safety: The hotel is in a very safe area, and the door is key-access only after hours, which is great Walkability: The area is very walkable, BUT there is construction in the Innovation Quarter right now, which is blocking the walkability for about 2 blocks in all directions behind the hotel Food & drinks: The bar, cafe, and restaurant onsite are very convenient - especially when I stayed- it was raining, so having those options right onsite was excellent Noteworthy details: Great renovations, great presentation, especially in the lobby
