I set up an appointment to see a dentist about some swelling I was experiencing 2 months after jaw surgery. It wasn't going down like the rest of my face was and I figured it would be good to rule out the possibility of it being an abscess tooth. The facility did not feel clean. The room where I had my first examination was dusty, meaning it wasn't being cleaned frequently during a pandemic and I did not feel secure. Some of the staff felt very green and under trained, but across the board everyone was very friendly. I had a panoramic x-ray performed and though the x-ray technician was also very kind, the room felt similarly uncared for like where I got my initial exam. My biggest issue with the service received was my dentist telling me I may have a deadly disease following my prior surgery. It was scary to be told that but my fears turned to anger when I did my own research into the name of the disease and saw that of the many (15+) symptoms, I exhibited none and was never asked about my symptoms. I wasn't asked much at all by the dentist from whom I received care. Any questions could have been asked to ruled out the possibility of having this disease. But instead I had to spend the duration of my time in this office thinking I was going to die. I later received much more comprehensive care and was told the nature of my swelling was common for some following my jaw surgery. The only redeeming qualities I found in this practice were the friendly natures of the other people I interacted with surrounding my time with the dentist.

I was in a lot of pain, the staff did everything to assure me I'll be fine. There was no waiting at all. This was my first experience with Winston-Salem dental care, thanks to my wife who is a patient for life. Thanks to Dr. Reddy for his kindness and comfortable conversation made my visit even better.
