My husband and I were referred to Triton Catering after researching caterers for our wedding in November 2020. We wanted to support Black business so we specifically looked for Black owned photographers, Caterers and etc. We were referred to Triton Catering and after speaking with the owner via telephone and e-mail we confirmed the company for our wedding. It was a small wedding of 50 people however about 38 actually attended. Upon making arrangements we asked what would happen with any food that was left over from the wedding. We had a pasta buffet style wedding with their specialty lemonade and sweet tea. We were assured that Triton Catering would box up any leftover food and drinks and send it home with the Bride and Groom. Our wedding day came and everything went off without a hitch. Our families were responsible for setting up and breaking down the venue, speaking with the caterers and photographers. My husband and I left after the wedding for our honeymoon. We arrived home planning to eat the leftovers from the wedding; we knew there would be some because only a portion of our guests arrived. Upon our return we noticed there was no food leftover. We contacted our families and inquired. They told us that the catering staff were seen putting the leftovers into boxes, however dividing the leftovers amongst themselves, some of the staff putting the food in their personal vehicles. My husband and I immediately contacted the owner and inquired. Initially Chef D was apologetic and assured us that she would get answers, considering she was not working our event that evening. Her response to us was that her lead chef reported that there were no leftovers and there was no one at the venue to give the food to; two very contradicting statements. Chef D did little to address the situation but stated that she would allow us to pick a couple dessert dishes to compensate. After back and forth communication my husband and I sent a list of the desserts that we wanted and heard nothing back for two weeks. We are now past Thanksgiving approaching Christmas. I followed up via e-mail and still had no response. After several weeks we received a response from Chef D stating that she had personal business to handle which is why she was delayed in responding. We reiterated again the desserts that we wanted and once again heard nothing. We have now approached January 2021, two months after our wedding and still no compensation. Chef D finally responded via e-mail and set up a time and date in which the desserts would be delivered to our address (January 14, 2021). This day came and went….guess what…..NO DESSERTS! My husband and I are extremely disappointed in this company. Chef D doesn’t know that we have photos of her staff putting our leftovers in their vehicles to take home. Instead of eliminating the issue by communicating timely and delivering the desserts we were pushed off. We would not recommend this caterer if you want professionalism from beginning to end.
