I have gone to this office for years and years and it has always been a positive experience. I have never had to wait for my appointment. Barely have had time to open a magazine! The selection of Music they play during my visit is always awesome! Dr. Burgess is a local guy, born and bred right here in Wilmington. Can't ask for better!

Out of state family member in town. Lost a tooth on her partial. I called at 8:00 am. They squeezed her in at 9:00 am and a day later she had a perfect smile! Shout out to Suzie and Dr. Rafaela. Highly recommend this practice.

I received partial porcelain veneers from Dr. Burgess, and I ended up with veneers that he liked the look of, but that were not the look I had requested. At the very last step of my veneers process, mini grooves were made on the bottom of the teeth, "to make them look more natural". Unfortunately for me, "natural" was not the look I had requested or wanted, and the grooves were not okayed with me beforehand. I was very forthright with Dr. Burgess about the "straight-across on the bottom"/"perfect teeth" look, that I was going for with my top venneers, so when I saw the rigid, mini grooves he had made on my veneers I was extremely disappointed and shocked. Once I expressed my dislike of them, he invited nurses from other rooms to come take a look and share their opinions of how they perceived my veneers... I was surrounded by people forcing their opinions on me, and not caring at all about my desire, which led me to feel completely ganged up on, and ultimately silenced. I wish I had had the backbone to stand firm on what I wanted (and was paying for), and not allow the staff to convince me to leave displeased with my service. Additionally, I expressed that when I ran my tongue across my front teeth I could feel where the porcelain sharply met my natural tooth, and I asked if that could be smoothed over. I was told that it was not visible and that I could only feel it because they had just been adhered; so I shouldn't worry about it becasue- " after a few brushes the sharp meet would smooth out naturally." That sharp contrast never disappeared, but instead became visible to see over time. I wish I could give them 5 stars because everything started off so wonderfully, and if it were not for my disappointment with my final outcome they would have undoubtedly earned 5 stars!

I've been a patient for 15 years at least. It's definitely gone down hill since Coleman Burgess ran it. Danica seems to run a much looser ship. I've been there twice in the last two month. Once for a filling. The second time for a cleaning. I mentioned issues with tooth pain both times and everybody, including Danica, just hand waved the issues aside. I'm still sitting here with dental pain. I'm switching dentists. These people are not serious about oral health. For what it's worth, the reason they have a 5.0 rating is because they solicit ratings in their office and have a quarterly raffle for people who leave a rating. This artificially inflates the reviews and ratings here. I don't care about the raffle but I'm serious about telling the truth. You can do better in Wilmington these days that this place.
