I cant say enough good things about our experience with Bennett construction. We worked with Shawn and he was very organized, a great communicator, and extremely knowledgable. We worked with B+O architects to design our house and Shawn made all those beautiful schematics into a reality. He was on site constantly making sure everything went smoothly. Shawn and his father also have so much experience building in Wilmington area. They have great relationships with contractors that do really good work and they know what works in this climate and what doesnt. Shawn Bennet built our dream beach house. My dream was to have our ocean and sound views dictate our design. I wanted a home with the least possible maintenance requirements and the most useful space to accommodate our large family. This happened. I have worked with four builders over my lifetime...two were excellent, and Shawn is one of those. He is so helpful with design and selection of materials and decor. He is responsive and most importantly, honest. If I were building or remodeling in Wrightsville Beach, I would look no further. We wanted a larger outdoor space than our small screened porch provided. Shawn Bennett devised a plan to incorporate the porch into our interior space and to construct a large outdoor patio area with 2 pergolas. The project was completed efficiently and cleanly. A wall of plastic constructed inside the house prevented dust/dirt from demolition of exterior walls to enter the house. The project went smoothly and every day the construction area was left in a tidy state. We are thrilled with the end result! We highly recommend Bennett Construction based on their quality, workmanship and extensive experience. We have found Bennett Construction Group to be an honest, high quality building contractor. Shawn and Teddy have undertaken several remodeling projects for us at 2 Wilmington area homes. Their work was performed to the highest quality standards, delivered on time and at the agreed upon price. They went above and beyond expectations to implement the projects while minimizing disruption while we were living in the home. The first project involved converting a large screened porch into a 4 season finished space. This included HVAC, electrical, lighting, all new windows, doors, exterior and interior finish work. Recently, we moved to another home near the intercoastal waterway and experienced weatherproofing issues on doors and windows from several storms. Shawn did a thorough evaluation to identify the root cause of the problems, ultimately leading to replacement of inadequate upper level windows and defective roofing and siding sections. Bennett Construction also completed a significant renovation to a detached garage to separate a kitchen and bathroom area from the main garage and create a functional storage area. Whenever we have an issue with our home, we turn to Bennet Construction for guidance. They have been in business in the local community for a very long time and have a well established network of high quality subcontractors. Their experience allows them to select the appropriate materials for the area and to install them to the highest quality standards.
