When I first began my search of finding a builder who could take our ideas, thoughts, and custom design and bring it to life, all signs pointed to Cory Thompson with Thompson Design & Build. Cory, Robert, and Mike (and all of the subs + vendors) have very high standards and expectations! After watching some of my friends and family go through their own builds, I realize what excellent standards, expectations, high quality & high touch service Thompson has. Nothing can compare to the attention to detail, patient professionalism, and luxury level expertise that we received during our build process. If you want a quality, custom-built home, look no further than Thompson Design Build. Cory takes great pride in his design and work. He is open to new ideas and will do the additional research needed to ensure quality work. He listens to you and your ideas, offers suggestions based on his experience and communicates well throughout the design/build process. Building a house can be stressful, but Cory made it a smooth and fun experience even during a pandemic! My husband and I selected Cory Thompson, owner of 2x4 Build in 2019-2020 to design and build our contemporary farmhouse and horse barn on our 7 acres for he had experience in a semi rural setting (not just a typical spec house in a subdivision). He understands developing the land to its fullest potential, drainage and all that plays a part in such a big project from scratch. Cory took my house floorplan drawing and used his excellent architectural skills to make a stunning home. He was able to get into my head and understand what I wanted without me having to go into every specific detail. The frequent phrase my husband heard was Cory knows what I like. That he did. If I did want to make a change, he was always willing to make it happen with such ease and reassurance to us. He was never offended. Cory also built our horse barn to my specifications. Cory was raised on a NC beef cattle farm so he understands farming, barns, and the needs of livestock. Besides being in constant contact with his sub contractors, Corys best attribute is his ability to listen to the client and not interrupt. His workmanship and pride in his finished product is top notch. We NEVER worried during the build process. Cory stayed in touch with us daily with updates. We were lucky to have found him- we interviewed with him and looked no further. Now that we have moved in, extremely happy, we still continue our friendship with Cory and have additional projects for him in the future.
