Probably the worst place I have been to the staff is outrageous not friendly just plan out rude and disrespectful.

Nice and quiet, beautiful setting. Room could use darkening shades...but minor complaint.

UPDATE AUGUST 20, 2023: WOW! We came back after a 2 year hiatus, and wow wow wow! After watching the decline of the facilities, we got to see what it looks like when Wyndham pours millions of dollars and great people into the lodge, the Brookside rooms, the restaurant, and - most of all - the golf course. I called to confirm everything a few days before we arrived, and asked the golf pro, Billy, "how's the course look?" His response was, "Prepare to be WOWed". Indeed, we were. What an amazing transformation!! Now, the course is far more challenging than it ever was, but every single hole has ridiculous beautiful views, in addition to serious rough and linoleum-like greens. Simply amazing. Highly recommended, and we cannot wait to come back next year. Our fraternity brothers have been coming here for 28 years for an annual golf weekend. The golf course is always in great condition. The rooms are solid, though don't expect Ritz Carlton glamour. Breakfast is always great. We used to dine in the restaurant both evenings we were there every year, but over time it became too expensive for the service and quality that you get, so we started dining in downtown Waynesville instead. We look forward to another 20+ years of annual golf outings!

What a gem! A truly special place nestled in the mountains. Amazing facility - top notch golf, restaurant, grounds, hotel and fitness center - with incredible hospitality. We were so impressed and will be back soon. Thank you so much for a great vacation!
