I would like to raise awareness about my recent experience at Wake Forest Family Dentist. I am bringing this to your attention today as I have since sought a second opinion from a new dentist who confirmed I do not have cavities. While I understand that individual experiences may vary, I believe its crucial to address the misinformation and treatment I received during my visit to ensure a more accurate and professional standard of care for future patients. I would like to express my dissatisfaction with my visit to Wake Forest Family Dentist, on June 20, 2023. particularly concerning the hygienist, Emily. During the appointment, Emily presented X-rays and asserted that I had cavities, referring to my teeth as diseased. This information surprised me, as I maintain a meticulous oral care routine, abstaining from sweets, flossing regularly, and rinsing after meals. Not only was Emilys communication condescending, but her role as a hygienist rather than a DMD raised concerns about the accuracy of the information provided. Moreover, I felt pressured when Emily preemptively scheduled a follow-up without consulting me. Subsequent to this encounter, led me to another dentist contradicted Emilys diagnosis, as they found no evidence of cavities. raising concerns about the accuracy of the initial diagnosis. Additionally, the front desk interaction on that day was disappointing. The staff member displayed unprofessional behavior by discussing personal financial matters, making unwarranted comments about my education expenses from just looking at my shirt in the University I studied at. This added to the overall negative experience. I have since transitioned to a new dentist and hope this feedback aids in addressing these issues for future patients.
