Communication was excellent, given my past experiences, and Boone from the construction industry I expected to have to chase them down to complete. They called, planned, the work out, showed up when supposed to and finished on time. I would use them again for sure.

Quick turnaround on our soffit replacement at our business in Blowing Rock. The gentleman that came out to do the work was quick and respectful of our customers in the shop and made sure that he was not parked where he would be in the way. Good company and will defiantly use them in the future.

Hired this company to do some work for us. Pros: - Great at communication and responding on time - When delays or issues came up the owner of the company reached out to me directly to help resolve the issues - The worker assigned to help us did great at being open, transparent, and keeping me updated on what he was doing and why. - Company was great at providing quotes and invoices for paper trails and documentation. As a homeowner I like to keep track of work done on my house. Cons: - the only big con I have is that they don't have an online payment option set up. so you have to pay via wires, checks, etc. This honestly isn't the biggest issue compared to all the positivies, but did just add one extra task to have to go into town to handle things. Overall I did enjoy my experience with the company. It's hard to find good workers in this construction field. I will probably use this company again for any future needs we have.

If you are looking for quality work done in a timely manner definitely choose someone other than Appalachian Construction and Handyman, LLC. We hired them to do new deck railings with cable wire and to build a small wall and hang a barn door at our house. The hope was that these projects would be done well and in a timely manner and they would continue on to remodel our kitchen and bathroom. Im honestly not even sure where to start with the complaints because there are so many. Our house has two levels of decks and they are almost identical on each floor. The project was for them to lower the deck railing to code level and run wire cabling. They messed up when cutting our deck posts and made the upstairs deck 36 and the downstairs 38. Because of their mistake they ran different numbers of horizontal cable (7 runs upstairs, 8 downstairs) because they ran out of room. The quality of work was terrible as well. See attached photos of terrible cuts and joints in the deck railing that dont line up. The interior barn door was not framed properly and was hung shoddily with just 2x4s. Door comes off the tracks because it was hung too low and gets stuck on the floor. Twice we were invoiced for incorrect amounts. The first time they caught it and the 2nd time I had to let them know we were being invoiced for work that wasnt done. Just not professional at all. They bought tons of extra fittings for the cable railing totaling hundreds of dollars and we were stuck with the parts and the bill because the construction supplier they use wouldnt take it back. We were invoiced for 100% completion of the job and when I went to check none of the construction trash was removed from the site and the job wasnt completed as per our contract. They went to finish the job and remove the trash. Was lied to via text by owner, Michael, that job was finished and trash removed. To end the misery we made final payment sight unseen. Went back to check and construction debris was thrown down the hill of our property and work that Mike said was done wasnt. All in all a terrible experience that lasted from March to September to get new deck railings and a door hung. Just crazy.

Hired to build steps, first crew ended up in jail for something. Second crew did substandard work. 2 and half months later and job want pass inspection. Crews are not supervised. Use at you own risk. I told him multiple times can not in case post in cement, he did it anyway. Now I wait for him to dig up cement.,stated he has been doing it this way for years and years. So, for years and, years he has been doing sub par work.,I agree that subs that follow code should not have to be supervised, yet , that's not you. Why do we try and have sub par work inspected. To see what can get away with? To waste inspectors time? Heck , did not even follow contract that you wrote. Then claim will fix if fails. New idea, build right the first time Now, he send receipts, After quick review, I see charges for item not used on my job. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. They do sub par work, charge 3 times material estimate, then charge you for material not used on job. You said don't need to supervise, yet build and had to tare down due to code violation. Complaint filed, with NC DOJ and with BBB. I even offered for Mike and I together to,measure for, material list. Nothing on steps, are enclosed, so should be easy. He declined,
