Republic Services Lake Norman Landfill

In 4 months of trash service, my can was emptied only 6 times when it was supposed to be a once weekly pickup. When I called to ask why and when trash would be picked up, they would tell me my can was not out on time for pickup. The only problem with their excuse is that my can was always out in a designated trash can area. Nothing blocked my can, I live on a paved, easily accessible road and the can was always out. It came to a point where I watched from 5am to dusk, and many pick up days they just never showed up. I paid for terrible service and when I finally decided to cancel, they charged me for two more months AFTER I cancelled and my can had been picked up! Not only that, but the few times they did pick up my trash, they made a huge mess of it, with a busted bag of trash strewn all over my yard and in the road! My trash was always tied up in bags, never loose in the can, so I can't help but feel like it's on purpose for complaining. When I called republic to ask them to clean it up, they told me they don't do that! $50/ month for tons of missed pickups and trash all in my yard!

The WORST!! I set up new service and was told our service day was Friday. When no one came, I called and was told our service day was actually Wednesday. Put the trash out on Wednesday and guess what -- no one came! I am now on PHONE CALL #7, day after day with them telling me the trash will get picked up and so far every day it NEVER HAPPENS! Yesterday (phone call #6) the rep got a supervisor on chat and they said the truck was 7 stops away, and they would keep our account up on their screen to monitor that it got picked up... Guess what...??!! IT NEVER GOT PICKED UP! Today (call #7) I'm being told the SAME thing, and then was told I'd get further compensatory credit to my account, but when I was transferred to the billing department the lady very rigidly told me that we had already been given the only credit we're allowed to receive - for ONE missed pick-up. Not the FIVE missed pick-ups that have happened following every call I've made. It's horrible that a garbage service can hold us hostage to them being the only ones that we are able to get service through. If there was ANY other option, I would 150% be changing service. If you can avoid using this service, I highly recommend that you do!

This place is a joke. Worst customer service at the guard house. Always on a random break. Come on people get to work. Laziest/poorest ran landfill around.
